Honigman Miller adds patent litigator in Chicago
Simeon Papacostas has joined Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn as a partner in its Chicago office.

Papacostas, who was previously partner at Kirkland & Ellis, focuses his practice on patent litigation in federal courts, representing clients in various sectors, including the life sciences, drilling and oilfield services, computer hardware, consumer products, and videogames.

Additionally, he represents clients for post-grant proceedings before the patent office and advises on patent-related anti-trust issues and trademark counselling.

David Foltyn, chairman and CEO of Honigman, said: “Simeon Papacostas is an excellent example of the top-tier legal talent we continue to attract to our growing Chicago office.”

“His arrival is in line with our strategic growth in key practice areas and his immense expertise in the intellectual property and life science arenas will serve as a tremendous asset to the firm and our clients.”

Honigman’s intellectual property department has experienced significant growth in recent years, with nine IP attorneys joining the firm last year. The department now has approximately 55 attorneys practicing in Chicago and Michigan.
