Partner promotions at White & Case

White & Case has promoted 31 new partners, including four intellectual property attorneys, across the US and UK.

In the US, Robert Counihan, Ross Elfand and Ryan Johnson have all been promoted and will be based in the firm’s New York office.

Counihan will focus primarily on patent and anti-trust litigation, as well as transactional matters related to IP rights and IP portfolios, with a specific interest on the healthcare and technology industries.

Elfand will focus on civil and criminal commercial litigation and counselling in anti-trust disputes, trade regulation and IP, while Johnson is experienced in pharmaceutical patent infringement cases and works with pharmaceutical companies in anti-trust actions.

In the UK, the firm has promoted Tim Hickman. He will be based in London and work on UK and EU privacy and data protection law, as well as general compliance and more specialised issues.

Hugh Verrier, chairman of White & Case, said: “Our new partners come from different practices and locations, but all have demonstrated commitment to our clients, collaboration and teamwork, and stewardship of our firm.”

Verrier added: "These new partner promotions reflect our dedication to developing partner talent from within the firm. With two-thirds of our new partner class based in the US and London, we continue to execute our strategy to grow significantly in these locations."
