Orrick hires IP trial partner


Orrick has hired seasoned first-chair intellectual property trial lawyer Scott Oliver as partner.

Oliver will work out of the firm’s Silicon Valley office.

He joins Orrick from K&L Gates and has more than a decade of experience in IP litigation in the courts and at the US International Trade Commission.

He has significant experience in patents related to the digital distribution of content.

Denise Mingrone, leader of Orrick’s IP business unit, said: “Scott Oliver brings additional first chair ITC and jury trial experience for leading tech and other companies.”

“His experience in ITC proceedings and cases involving complex technologies is a perfect fit for our team.”
