Akin Gump hires Kevin Cadwell
Akin Gump has added Kevin Cadwell as partner in Houston.

Cadwell previously worked at Reed Smith, where he was also partner.

His practice focuses on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and trade dress litigation, and he represents clients in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals.

Kim Koopersmith, chair of Akin Gump, said: “Our IP practice has been at the forefront of high-stakes and cutting-edge issues, and Kevin Cadwell will help us continue to be a leader in this field.”

“He has the kind of subject matter and trial experience that clients find truly valuable, and I know that he will make an immediate contribution to the success of our IP practice and the firm.”

Commenting on the move, Cadwell said: “Akin Gump’s commitment to enhancing its already robust IP practice, along with its strong roots in Texas, made this move a very easy decision for me.”

“Operating on a national scale, the firm has a sophisticated platform that my clients will appreciate and that will allow me to expand and grow my practice. I am excited to be here and look forward to working alongside my new colleagues.”
